I never thought I would end up in the hospital on the eve of my birthday. But that's exactly what happened when I hit my head on a hard floor and was diagnosed with a concussion. The dizziness and confusion that followed left me very vulnerable.

When I was discharged from the hospital, I was left completely to my own devices. I couldn't drive, I couldn't read, and I could barely even think straight. Figuring out how to get myself home seemed next to impossible.
I had to rely on my boyfriend, who was away in London, to help me get home in an Uber. He was able to see to it that I got home safely and that I had everything I needed.
This experience has reminded me how important it is to have someone in our lives we can trust. Even though we may feel invincible, life can throw us curveballs at any moment.
When we are in a vulnerable state, we need to be able to rely on someone who will be there for us. Someone who will take care of us, especially when we cannot take care of ourselves.
Trust is a precious gift. It's something that should not be taken lightly. When we trust someone, we're giving them a piece of ourselves. We're putting our faith in them, and we're hoping that they will not let us down.
If you're lucky enough to have someone in your life who you trust, cherish them. Make sure you let them know how much you appreciate them. Because you never know when you might need them.
You are not alone. There are people who care about you, and who want to help you. Reach out to them, and let them know that you need them. You are not alone!
